What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember information between visits. Some are essential for the site to function; others support optional features.
Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | Keeps you logged in and remembers your session as you move between pages. Essential — the site cannot function without it. | Essential, session-only |
| recaptcha (Google) | Set only on the Contact us page, to help distinguish real visitors from bots submitting the form. | Functional, third-party |
| PayPal cookies | Set only during subscription checkout, by PayPal, to process payment securely. | Functional, third-party |
Local storage, not cookies
Your dark/light theme preference is saved using your browser's local storage, not a cookie. It stays on your device only and is never sent to our servers.
Your consent choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you're happy for us to use optional cookies for things like site analytics — you can accept or decline. Your choice is remembered on your device, and you can change your mind anytime using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page.
We don't currently run analytics or advertising cookies — this consent mechanism is in place so that if we do add them in future, they'll only ever run for visitors who've actively said yes, never before.
Managing cookies
Beyond the consent choice above, most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely in their own settings. Blocking the essential session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in.
